Whether you’re passionate about beauty, considering a career in makeup artistry, or simply want to master your own makeup, this immersive 3-day course is the perfect starting point. Designed for complete beginners or those with very little experience, this hands-on training will guide you through everything from essential theory to practical application — setting you up with the skills and confidence to create beautiful, polished looks.

Course Overview

Day 1: Foundations of Makeup Artistry

• Introduction to the role of a makeup artist
• Understanding skin types, tones, and undertones
• Skin preparation & skincare essentials
• Product knowledge: brushes, tools, and kits
• Foundation matching & base application
• Color correction, concealing, and setting techniques
• Basic contouring and highlighting for face shapes
• Practice: Creating a flawless, natural base

Day 2: Eyes, Brows & Lips

• Eyebrow shaping and filling techniques
• Eyeshadow theory: color placement, blending, and transitions
• Classic eyeliner & mascara application
• Lash application: strips and individuals
• Lip preparation and shaping
• Lip color application (nudes, bolds, ombré)
• Practice: Day-to-night eye looks

Day 3: Full Face Looks & Final Touches

• Creating complete looks: soft glam, evening glam, and trend-inspired
• Face charts: designing and planning makeup looks
• Hygiene standards and sanitation practices
• Working with different face shapes and skin tones
• Introduction to basic photography & lighting for makeup
• Tips for building your kit on a budget

runs from 10:00 to 16:00.

This course runs 3 days, 3 models, 3 types of makeup. You will learn the theory of the treatment firstly, and spend the majority of the day practising your practical skills, on a model, with a short break.

This course includes the exact same training structure, content, and practical sessions as the £390 Group Beginner Makeup Artistry Course, but delivered as personalised 1:1 training with individual guidance and support throughout all 3 days.

This blended learning programme combines essential underpinning theory with high-quality practical based training to develop the core skills, knowledge, and confidence required to enter the world of work within the makeup industry.

Starting from the basics we’ll cover topics including: how to prep the skin for makeup, choosing the right foundation and creating a flawless base, professional makeup application techniques, building your kit, and much more. You will learn anatomy and physiology of skin, health & safety, how to carry out a consultation, how to determine skin type, colour theory, makeup styles, and tools of the trade.

Kits are included ONLY for the duration of the course (not take home).

Upon booking (deposit required) you’ll be sent a confirmation email with course e-manual attached. We recommend reading this before your training day to get the most from your course.

When you have successfully completed your training day(s), you will receive The Professional Makeup course diploma which is fully Accredited by Associated Beauty Therapists (ABT). This allows you to gain public liability insurance to work with paying clients.
